Antigua - 1st Test

Tue 07 April - London/Antigua

Depart London Gatwick on your Virgin Atlantic flight to Antigua.

Arrive Antigua, complete customs and immigration formalities, and proceed to the arrivals halls where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for an 11 night stay.  Tonight you are invited to join your tour host and fellow travellers for ‘Welcome Drinks’ and an introduction to Antigua from our local agent.

Wed 08 April - Antigua

Enjoy a relaxing day as you acclimatise and familiarise yourself to your new surroundings in the warm Caribbean sunshine.

Antigua's boasts 365 beaches, 'one for each day of the year.' While the count may be suspect, you won't have a problem getting sand in your shoes or finding reefs and wrecks for diving and snorkelling. Antigua has a maritime heritage and still has some of the best sailing in the region. As you travel around the island you will notice a colonial atmosphere, from the old stone windmills of long-abandoned sugar plantations to the renovated naval base of Nelson's Dockyard (named after Admiral Horatio himself).

Thu 09 - Sat 11 April  - Antigua

Soak up the warm Caribbean sunshine as you enjoy the wide range of facilities on offer at the hotel. Alternatively you could book an optional island excursion to see more of the island's landscape, history and culture.
 

Sun 12 April - Antigua Island Cruise

Today we have arranged a memorable day out as you circumnavigate the island on a catamaran.  You'll see many of Antigua's beaches, some of the smaller islands and enjoy a scrumptious barbeque lunch at Green Island where you can explore and snorkel in crystal clear waters. 
 

Mon 13 - Fri 17 April - 1st TEST, WEST INDIES v ENGLAND Venue: Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground Time for the action to begin. Daily return transfers will be provided to the Ground. During the Test Norman will host a cricket forum at the hotel when you'll have an opportunity to ask any questions about the current series as well as listen to some tales from his playing days.

Fri 17 April - Tour Dinner

Tonight you are invited to join Norman and your fellow travellers for an informal dinner to mark the end of your Caribbean adventure.  
 

Sat 18 April - Antigua/London

Enjoy a lazy morning at the hotel before its time to pack your bags and transfer to VC Bird International Airport for your flight home.  Arrive London Gatwick early the following morning (19 or 22 April)

In a picturesque and secluded spot on Antigua's southeast tip, this popular tropical hideaway sits in spacious gardens, sprinkled with fine facilities and hemmed in by two white sand beaches.  Due to its unique setting on a 100-acre private peninsula, this lovely resort offers a choice between the calm waters of secluded Mamora Bay or the Atlantic waters off Coco’s Beach.

Choose from a range of dining options including informal, al fresco and candelit dinners at the resorts four restaurants. offering à la carte and buffet options. Choose from six bars to suit your mood or grab a drink from the beach buggy bar that roams both beaches. Chill out by the mian pool or at the adults only three-tier Tranquility Pool. There is a fitness centre, exercise classes, tennis courts, beach and water volleyball and non-motorised watersports including windsurfing, sailing, snorkelling and kayaking.

All rooms are air-conditioned with television, ceiling fan, bath and/or shower and balcony. Club Rooms have one kingsize or two double beds, Premium Rooms are slightly larger with partial ocean view while Beachfront Rooms overlook Coco's Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. Royal suites are more luxurious with a kingsize bed, sunken living room and wet bar overlooking Mamora Bay, a lounge area and pool.  Two bedroom villas are set on the hillside and have partial bay or garden views, a spacious living room, dining room and kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms (one ensuite).
