Sun 20 Dec - JOHANNESBURG / KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Arrive Johannesburg, complete customs and immigration formalities and connect on your 1 hour domestic flight to Hoedspruit next to the Kruger National Park. On arrival at Hoedspruit Airport, Kapama Rangers welcome and greet guests before assisting them onto open safari vehicles for the short transfer to the lodge where you check in and enjoy lunch.
Kapama Private Game Reserve is an African Eden. Sweeping across 13 000 hectares of savannah and riverine forest, Kapama represents a piece of Africa as it used to be. With the mighty Drakensberg mountains in the distance and iconic Kruger National Park to the east, Kapama has the finest wildlife safari offering with vast herds of buffalo, elephant and antelope along with plentiful predators resident on the reserve.

Mon 21 - Tue 22 Dec - KAPAMA GAME RESERVE
The days start with an early wake-up call between 5am and 5:30am. Tea, coffee and rusks are enjoyed together before heading out at first light. Halfway through the game drive, there’s a stop for hot drinks and snacks, before returning to the lodge at around 9am for a hearty breakfast. After breakfast relax around the pool or enjoy one of the many activities the lodge has on offer, including (payable locally) Spa treatments, an Elephant back Safari or nature walk with your Ranger.
Lunch is served at your leisure followed by an afternoon safari. Dinner will either be served at the lodge dining room or in the open air Boma.
Wed 23 Dec - KAPAMA - MPUMULANGA SCENIC TOUR - DURBAN
We depart Kapama by coach and drive back to Johannesburg via the scenic Panorama Route. The route along the Mpumalanga escarpment is both pleasurable and picturesque to drive as there is so much to see. Along the way you will enjoy stops at Gods Window, Blyde River Canyon and Mac Falls.
Arrive Johannesburg Airport, complete check-in formalities and board your domestic flight to Durban. On arrival in Durban proceed to the arrivals hall where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for an 8-night stay.
The KwaZulu Natal North Coast offers spectacular beaches all along its coastline and is divided into two distinct sections. Just north of Durban are the well developed beach resorts and golf courses, while the far north provides miles and miles of unspoilt beaches, wetlands and lake systems.
Thu 24 Dec - DURBAN CITY TOUR
Our morning tour of this bustling metropolis, often called the cultural 'melting pot' of South Africa, includes a drive past the busiest harbour in Africa and various historical monuments before we head for the city centre. We stop at the Indian Market where you get a glimpse into the Indian culture and bargain for souvenirs and spices. Then past the so-called Apartheid Beaches, the Marine Parade (Golden Mile) where you will see rickshaws, en route to the impressive developments at the new Point Waterfront area. Our last visit is to the Botanical Gardens, famous for their cycad collection and orchid garden.
Fri 25 Dec - CHRISTMAS DAY FESTIVITIES
Enjoy Christmas Lunch at the magnificent Oyster Box Hotel, England's base for the 1st Test. On arrival a glass of sparkling wine is enjoyed on the beautiful terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean. A carefully crafted menu includes a tasteful plated starter, Carvery with roast Turkey and Gammon and a hot buffet, with all the trimmings. An abundant dessert spread includes traditional Christmas pudding and Trifle, as well as favourites such as Bea’s Cheesecake, Pavlova and Crème Brûlée. A Midlands Cheese platter and homemade mince pies and Eggnog, bring the day to a delectable finish.

Depart Durban in the late morning for Cape Town. On arrival in Cape Town proceed to the arrivals halls where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a 9-night stay. Dias called it the Cape of Storms. Drake said it was “the Fairest Cape in the whole circumference of the earth.” For first time visitors it is love at first sight. Thu 7 Jan - CAPE PENINSULA or WINELANDS TOUR
Your Cape Point day tour starts along one of the most famous scenic routes in Cape Town, travelling past the spectacular pristine beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay towards the fishing Town of Hout Bay. On arrival at Hout Bay we head down to the sea docks where you will have the opportunity to take a 45min boat trip to Seal Island or browse through some of the local arts and craft stalls. We then head off over the iconic pass of Chapman’s Peak, where you'll have an opportunity to take some amazing photos.
We continue towards the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve where we take the funicular to the light-house and capture some spectacular views of False Bay. Lunch is served at the 2 Oceans Restaurant at Cape Point.
We then head off round the opposite side of the Peninsula towards the Naval Base of Simon’s Town and Boulders Beach, where we make a point of stopping at Boulders to see the African colony of Jackass Penguins. The final part of the tour takes us for a closer look at False Bay passing through some quaint coastal villages, such as Fish Hoek and Kalk Bay. Our last stop is at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens before returning to the hotel.
WINELANDS OPTION
Transfer to Stellenbosch in the beautiful Cape Winelands. Today, you'll experience the culture, tradition and true romance of Stellenbosch as you stroll through the old town centre. Visit the oldest restored townhouse in the South Africa. Enjoy ready-to-dunk rusks (traditional biscuit) with indigenous teas and you can’t leave the country without trying biltong and droëwors! We visit a small, family-run butchery to find out more and to taste the product, while a variety of white and red wines from award-winning estates will be sampled on our walk.
We transfer to the beautiful Vergelegen Estate for a Picnic Lunch - Vergelegen's mystic Camphor Forest is the venue for our "white tablecloth" picnic. Here we will enjoy an intimate picnic in a beautifully shaded and tranquil environment in the remnants of Van Der Stel's Camphor forest. After lunch, return to the hotel.
