Depart Heathrow on your overnight Virgin Atlantic flight to Cape Town.

Thu 31 Dec    Cape Town

Arrive Cape Town where you will be met and transferred to the Arabella Westin Hotel for 8 nights. Only a 5 minute ride (complimentary shuttle) from the hotel is the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront with its wide array of bars, restaurants and trendy boutiques.

Tonight we have arranged for all Sporting Traveller guests to enjoy a special New Years Eve Dinner at Baia Restaurant and Cocktail Bar in a prime location in the bustling V&A Waterfront. The evening includes welcome drinks and a sumptuous 4 course dinner.

Fri 01 Jan    Cape Town

Ranking alongside Sydney and San Francisco as one of the world’s most popular cities, Cape Town is flanked by the Atlantic Ocean and towering Table Mountain. Must-see sights include Table Mountain (cable car ticket included for all clients), Robben Island and the stunning scenery of Cape Point. 

Sat 02 Jan    Cape Winelands Tour

Enjoy a full day tour to the beautiful Cape Winelands. Visit Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, enjoy a cellar tour and wine tasting at one of the region's top estates, followed by a delicious lunch in a local restaurant. Return to the hotel late afternoon.

Sun 03 - Thu 07 Jan    3RD TEST - CAPE TOWN

Daily roundtrip transfers to/from Newlands Cricket Ground will be provided. During the week you are invited to a Cricket Forum with your tour host and fellow travellers. 

Fri 08 Jan    Cape Town / Johannesburg / Mabula Private Game Reserve

Transfer to Cape Town airport for your flight to Johannesburg. On arrival you will be met and transferred by luxury coach to the African Bush. Mabula is a 12,000-hectare, malaria free reserve that is home to an abundance of wildlife and birds, including the world famous Big Five. Stay is based on full board. On arrival enjoy a welcome drink then relax at the lodge's sparkling pool or in the Buck and Lion Bar before embarking on a late afternoon game drive. At sunset the landrovers stop in the bush for a refreshing ‘sundowner’. Return to the camp for dinner in the Lodge Restaurant.

Sat 09 Jan    Mabula Game Reserve

Up early today for hot drinks and biscuits before embarking on a dawn safari as the sun rises over the African bush. Mabula is home to lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, hippo, crocodile, rhino, impala and giraffe. Return to the camp for a hearty breakfast. Spend a relaxing day by the pool or perhaps take a bush walk with your ranger. Enjoy lunch followed by a siesta to make up for your early morning start. Late afternoon, embark on another exciting game drive into the African bushveld before returning to the camp for a traditional boma dinner under the stars. 

Sun 10 Jan    Mabula Game Reserve

Another early start for your morning game drive. Return to camp for breakfast and lunch and spend the day relaxing by the pool. Late afternoon game drive followed by dinner under the stars.

Mon 11 Jan    Mabula / Sun City

Enjoy a final game drive and breakfast, then collect your luggage and transfer by coach (approx 3 hours) to Sun City Resort. On arrival, check-in to Sun City Hotel for 2 nights. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the huge range of activities on offer.

Tue 12 Jan    Sun City

Sun City is a unique sports and leisure resort nestled in the heart of an ancient volcano. There is something for everyone including two 18-hole Championship golf courses, the Valley of the Waves water park, 11 tennis courts, mountain biking trails, horseback riding and an entertainment centre that never stops. Adjacent to the resort is Pilanesberg Game Reserve – 130,000 acres of natural African bush where you can enjoy game drives, bush walks and balloon safaris. 

Wed 13 Jan    Sun City / Johannesburg

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before being transferred to Johannesburg. On arrival, check-in to the Balalaika Hotel for 6 nights.

Thu 14 - Mon 18 Jan    4TH TEST - JOHANNESBURG

Roundtrip transfers to/from The Wanderers Stadium will be provided. During the week you are invited to a Cricket Forum with your cricket host who will review England’s performance throughout the series. Drinks will be provided.

Tue 19 Jan    Johannesburg / London (20.45 / 06.50)

Free day until your late afternoon transfer to Johannesburg airport for the flight home.
