Tonight's 'Welcome to Ceylon' drinks are an opportunity for you to wind down and meet new and perhaps former friends from previous tours. Drinks will be hosted by your cricket host, Norman Gifford at the Heritance Ahungalla.
Sun 25 Mar Madu Ganga River Safari
After breakfast, meet in the hotel lobby for the short transfer to Balapitiya where you will board your boat and enjoy a morning river safari on the Madu River, famous for its bio-diversity as well as being an Eco-reserve. Observe the traditional method of prawn trapping while cruising through mangrove swamps containing a wide variety of amphibians and birds. Visit an island and experience some traditional Sri Lankan industries: Cinnamon farming, Coir making and coconut leaf weaving. Return to the hotel early afternoon.

Daily roundtrip transfers will be provided from your hotel to Galle Stadium. Transfer time from Eden Resort (1hr15mins) and from Heritance Ahungalla (50mins/1hr).
On the second morning of the Test we will leave the hotel a little earlier to allow time for a short city tour of Galle. Dominated by the huge fort built along the promontory in the middle of the 17th century, Galle is both a UNESCO World Heritage site and a working community.

During the Test, join Norman Gifford for post dinner drinks at your hotel and enjoy an informal chat about England’s progress and prospects in the 1st Test.
