    COLOMBO

    Facilities: There are many dining options - a Coffee Shop in the main foyer; the popular Cheers Pub with snooker and pool; several restaurants including Tao - an open-air fusion restaurant; Lagoon, the best fish restaurant in town; Taprobane and London Grill for fine dining; Chutneys serving South Indian cuisine and the newly opened Nugagaha which specialises in sumptuous Sri Lankan cuisine.     Located on Beruwela Beach, close to Bentota, the delightful Eden Resort & Spa combines excellent value with a good range of facilities, in house entertainment and a beautiful beachfront setting. About 1hr20mins transfer from Galle.

    Facilities: Water is a dominant sensation at Eden. The main restaurant almost has the sense of an aquarium, the main bar has a nautical theme and an Ayurvedic Spa offers rustic, individual cubicles in a garden of ponds and mini-waterfalls. There are two restaurants, lounge bar and swim-up bar, nightclub, evening entertainment, hair salon, and shops. Sports and leisure facilities include a snooker room, games room, gymnasium with sauna and massage, and squash courts. Numerous watersports are on offer at nearby Confifi Marina.

    Accommodation: There are 158 rooms with airconditioning, telephone, mini bar, safe, television, tea & coffee making facilities, bathroom and terrace.


    AHUNGALLA (Galle Test)

    Located on a palm-fringed expanse of sandy beach in Ahungalla, a small fishing hamlet on Sri Lanka's West Coast, Heritance is protected on three sides by thick coconut groves and overlooks the turquoise blue waters of the Indian Ocean. About 50 mins transfer to Galle.

    Facilities: Open sided lobby by a swimming pool that seems to merge with the sea, with a second serene pool in the gardens. Restaurants, a 24-hour coffee shop, bars including one at poolside, airconditioned library and recreational activities including tennis, badminton, billiards, fitness centre, spa, nightclub, shops and entertainment most nights from piano music to traditional Sri Lankan shows.

    Accommodation: The 152 elegantly furnished rooms feature airconditioning, ceiling fan, television, tea & coffee making facilities, minibar, telephone, bath or shower, balcony or terrace with partial sea view.


    KANDY

    Earl’s Regency is a five-star luxury hotel perched alongside the Mahaweli River, overlooked by the fringes of the Knuckles mountain range. The hotel is designed with pagoda shaped roofs and a long overhead bridge that links together the main hotel wing and the new wing.

    Facilities: The hotel serves an array of Sri Lankan and international dishes prepared with fresh, local produce. The Far Pavilion restaurant serves international buffets while the Coffee Shop offers light snacks. There are several bars throughout the hotel. The Spa offers a range of rejuvenating massages, body scrubs, and beauty treatments. The swimming pool is located by the spa, while other facilities include a floodlit tennis court, squash courts, badminton, gym, cycling (mountain bikes available), table tennis, billiards/snooker, shopping arcade, and evening entertainment including traditional Kandyan dance performances.

    Accommodation: There are 104 well-appointed rooms with private balconies opening out to scenic mountain views. All rooms are furnished with double beds, writing desk, and couch. In room facilities includes a/c, overhead fan, satellite TV, IDD, internet, minibar, tea/coffee facility, in-room safe, hair dryer, 24-hr room service and laundry service and ensuite bathrooms.


    NUWARA ELIYA

    Once the residence of a British Governor, the Grand Hotel is an experience of old-time grandeur. Situated more than 6,000 feet above sea level, the hotel is the traditional base for exploring the delights of Sri Lanka's spectacular hill country. Temperatures in Nuwara Eliya are more akin to an English summer's day and the town is flanked by the magnificent Pidurutalagala and Single Tree mountains.

    Accommodation
    : There are 156 rooms split between the Governor's Wing, furnished with colonial-period antiques and soft furnishings in paisley prints and the golf wing, furnished in slightly more modern fashion and overlooking Nuwara Eliya golf course. All rooms have ceiling fans, and most have fireplaces although these days an electric heater is lit in its place on a cold night. Ensuite bathrooms have baths and showers.

    Facilities: The Grand Hotel offers a choice of restaurants, a bar and lounge area, coffee shop and a cosy wood-panelled bar with a fireplace located next to the Billiards Room which has three Billiards tables. Other facilities include a health centre and sauna, small shopping arcade and tennis and golf at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club next door.


    YALA NATIONAL PARK

    Chaaya Wild Yala is an exclusive game lodge on the south-east coast. Formally Yala Village Hotel, the lodge blends into the surrounding scrub forest at Kirinda, bordering Yala National Park and the Indian Ocean. Spanning 10 acres of jungle and endless miles of beach, the property is truly a nature resort of untamed beauty. The neighbouring National Park boasts one of the world's densest leopard populations, and is also home to herds of elephants, sloth bear, sambur, spotted deer, wild boar, crocodiles, monkeys and over 150 species of birds.

    Facilities: Step out into the jungle from your luxury chalet to watch the elephants walking by or an illusive leopard sunning itself on the rocky outcrop close by. Enjoy a drink at the Pool Bar and a variety of eastern and western delicacies in the main restaurant. The roof top observation deck/bar provides a bird’s eye view of the coast and jungle and is a stunning venue at sunset. After a dusty safari in Yala National park the swimming pool provides a wonderful relief from the heat and dust.

    Accommodation is in well appointed chalets with private verandas. Chalets are furnished with twin or double beds, work desk and cupboard, ensuite bathrooms with showers and hair dryer, airconditioning, overhead fan, cable TV, telephone, mini-bar and tea/coffee making facility.
