    QUEENSLAND

    The Great Barrier Reef, one of the true wonders of the world, is Queensland’s most famous attraction. But in this tropical paradise you’ll also find beautiful beaches, rainforests and wonderful national parks. Queensland’s Gold Coast is one of Australia’s most popular destinations, with 25 miles of golden beaches and Pacific Ocean surf. Its capital Brisbane is built along the banks of the Brisbane River and is a mix of the tropical, colonial and modern. A rambling city with a relaxed lifestyle, you will find many excellent restaurants, pubs, theatres and clubs. Gateway to Northern Queensland is Cairns, a bustling city surrounded by waterfalls, lush rainforest and beautiful palm fringed beaches. Port Douglas, 40 miles north of Cairns, is a picturesque resort and the closest gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. Between the months of November and March, the presence of poisonous box jellyfish prohibits sea swimming and watersports offshore. Visits to the reef however, operate safely year round.

    The GABBA - Brisbane

    Only a short drive from the city centre, the ground is located on Brisbane’s south bank in the predominantly business-residential suburb of Woolloongabba.  Ground capacity 45,000.

     
     

    SOUTH AUSTRALIA

    South Australia’s fabulous wine growing regions of McLaren Vale, Clare Valley and Barossa are internationally acclaimed and home to some of the world’s most famous wines. The rugged scenery of the Flinders Ranges, Murray River and the frontier towns of the Outback offer a striking contrast to the elegant, graceful and spacious city of Adelaide. Built on the banks of the Torrens River, Adelaide is a city of tree-lined boulevards, parks, gardens, gracious buildings and beautiful beaches.

    Adelaide Oval

    Dating back to 1865, with St Peter’s Cathedral rising behind the elegant Edwardian scoreboard, Adelaide Oval is without doubt one of the most picturesque grounds in international cricket.  The ground is located on the banks of the Torrens River, just a short walk from the city centre. Ground capacity 32,000.

     
     

    WESTERN AUSTRALIA

    Wonderful coastal scenery, great beaches and a perfect climate are just a few of the highlights of this vast and unspoilt region. State capital Perth is vibrant yet laidback and one of the most attractive cities in Australia. Located on the banks of the Swan River and surrounded by parks and gardens, Perth boasts more sunshine hours than any other state capital. Close neighbour Freemantle is worth a visit, while further a field must see attractions include Margaret River, the Pinnacles National Park and the dolphins of Monkey Mia.

    The WACA - Perth

    Located on Hay Street to the east of downtown Perth, the Western Australia Cricket Association (WACA) stadium is the principal sporting arena for Western Australia. The ground is a short bus ride or leisurely 25 minute walk from the city centre. Ground capacity 25,000.

     
     

    VICTORIA

    Victoria is packed with areas of outstanding natural beauty; from the surf-battered cliffs of the Great Ocean Road to towering mountain ash and eucalypt forests of the Dandenong Ranges. Travel back in time to the goldrush towns of Bendigo and Ballarat, visit the penguin and seal colonies on Phillip Island and discover acres of premium wine growing in the Yarra Valley. State capital Melbourne is Australia’s sporting capital, an attractive, contemporary city offering a rich mix of theatres, festivals, art, music and fine food.

    The MCG - Melbourne

    This mighty theatre of Australian sport is located on Jolimont Terrace, within easy walking distance of Melbourne’s city centre hotels. Travelling by public transport is possible with regular bus and tram services operating close to the ground. Ground capacity 100,000.

     
     

    NEW SOUTH WALES

    Australia’s oldest, largest and liveliest city, Sydney enjoys a wonderful harbourside setting, with the sails of the Opera House making a stunning backdrop to the eclectic mix of restaurants, galleries, theatres and shops. New South Wales offers a collection of unique experiences from subtropical rainforests and golden beaches to the rugged Blue Mountains and rich wine estates of the Hunter Valley. Combined with a marvellous year-round climate, Sydney is rightly known as one of the world’s greatest cities.

    The SCG - Sydney

    The Sydney Cricket Ground is an intriguing mix of stark new architecture and colonial heritage. Its location can cause travelling difficulties when using public transport so daily round-trip transfers will be provided from our featured Sydney hotels. Ground capacity 44,500.
