CHICAGO

My Kind of Town, Chicago is…we think you’ll agree!

Chicago looks great from every angle, whether you are exploring the city’s astonishing architecture during a guided tour or enjoying the bird’s eye view from the 103rd floor of the Skydeck Chicago in the Willis Tower, formerly Sears Tower. It’s located less than a 40-minute drive away from Medinah, venue for the 2012 Ryder Cup. The golf course is just eight miles west of Chicago O’Hare International, the world’s second busiest airport.

The city’s 26 miles of lakefront paths are just one reason Chicago is one of the most beautiful and easiest cities in the world in which to walk, bike, swim or go fishing.

Navy Pier is the Midwest’s top tourist destination with its boardwalk, boat tours and countless dining and shopping options. The Magnificent Mile along Michigan Avenue, an eight-block stretch of more than 460 stores that offer luxury items, beautiful bargains and everything in between. The downtown area is known as the Loop, a nickname that refers to the area encircled by the elevated ‘L’ train tracks.

Art and architecture are two distinguishing features. Indeed, the Art Institute of Chicago is one of the world’s greatest art museums.

You will find restaurants of every nationality. Feel free to match your mood to one of the city’s elegant dining spots, charming cafes, intimate bistros, convivial eateries, pizza palaces or another of the endless alternatives.

The city has a long tradition of jazz and blues and there are some great live venues which attract big-name talent. Its highly acclaimed theatre district hosts mega-musicals, plays and dance productions straight from Broadway.

NAPERVILLE

Chosen for its easy access to Medinah Country Club and for the international village atmosphere that is sure to build in the lead up to The Ryder Cup, Naperville was recently voted the second best place to live in the United States. Within easy reach of Chicago by road or rail, it‘s 30 miles to the Chicago Loop and 18 miles from Medinah Country Club.

Downtown Naperville is recognised as one of the most popular shopping and dining destinations in the Midwest.

The tree lined Riverwalk and its quaint restaurants and shops is known as the ‘Crown Jewel of Naperville’ and attracts lunchtime walkers, families and early morning joggers. Its covered bridges, fountains, landscaping and distinctive shepherd’s crook light poles have become symbolic of Naperville’s ties to its historic past as the oldest settlement in DuPage County.

Stroll along the brick-paved winding paths of the Riverwalk, view the art pieces of the Century Walk, have a picnic at the pavilion or enjoy an outdoor concert.

Paddle boats can be rented at the Paddleboat Quarry while you can travel back in time at the Naper Settlement, a museum showing how the area was transformed from a frontier outpost into an affluent city.

Naperville has a great reputation for arts and culture with indoor and outdoor art displays and a new Theatre District which boasts a number of venues, including the fabulous Wentz Concert Hall with its amazing acoustics.
