SOUTH AFRICA CAR HIRE INFORMATION
South Africa with its wonderful diversity and breathtaking scenery lends itself to being explored on a driving holiday and with so many great golf courses waiting to be played a hire car really is a must. Nothing can compare with the freedom of the open road, and the stunning drive along ‘Chapman’s Peak’ near Cape Town, and the ‘Garden Route’ between Mossel Bay and Port Elizabeth, rate as some of the most scenic anywhere in the world.
RENTAL CHARGES
Rates are quoted in £ sterling and calculated on cycles of 24 hours, from time of pick up to time of drop off. Should a vehicle be returned late you will be charged an additional days rental at local rates. There are no refunds for returning a car early.
The daily rate should be calculated from the number of days continuous rental. Vehicles can be collected from / returned to any airport location. Fee for local delivery / collection R110 (R220 after hours). One way drop off charges apply (R330) on vehicles being returned more than 150km from where the rental was started. For one way rental on the Garden Route e.g. pick up Cape Town, drop off George or Port Elizabeth, a charge of R800 is payable.

IMPORTANT all drivers will be required to present a valid full New British or International Driving licence
and credit card in their own name. The minimum age for drivers is 21. Drivers under this age pay a local surcharge.
Additional drivers must be stated on the agreement, a surcharge per driver is payable locally.

Most petrol stations do not accept credit cards, payment is with cash
Service is normally provided by a petrol attendant
Have your drivers license with you at all times
Many major motorways have tolls payable in cash.
