A fantastic safari experience awaits as you search for the 'Big Five' at Kapama River Lodge in Greater Kruger National Park. We then head back to Johannesburg on a wonderful panoramic sightseeing tour, via the awe-inspiring beauty of Gods Window, Blyde River Canyon and Mac Mac Falls ready for the 4th Test at the Wanderers Cricket Stadium. Johannesburg is one of Africa's biggest and most vibrant cities. The old city is a multi-cultural mixture of tradtional medicine shops, chinese restaurants, taxi ranks and ultra modern buildings. There are excellent museums, art galleries and some great touring opportunities of historical and political interest. Sandton offers some of the best shopping in Southern Africa and a wide choice of bars and restaurants.

ITINERARY

Sun 19 Jan ARRIVE Johannesburg - Fly to Hoedspruit
Arrive Johannesburg, clear customs and immigration formalities and proceed to your onward flight to Greater Kruger National Park. Arrive Hoedspruit Airport where you will be met by Kapama Rangers who will drive you in open top vehicles to Kapama River Lodge. On arrival, enjoy lunch and then complete check in formalities.

Kapama Private Game Reserve is an African Eden. Sweeping across 13,000 hectares of savannah and riverine forest, Kapama represents a piece of Africa as it used to be. With the mighty Drakensberg Mountains in the distance and iconic Kruger National Park to the east, Kapama has the finest safari offering with large herds of buffalo, elephant and antelope along with an array of predators.

Meet your ranger and tracker at afternoon tea, then embark on your first open-top safari. Enjoy a unique wildlife experience, stop for a sundowner in the bush and then return to the lodge and freshen-up ready for dinner.

Mon 20 - Tue 21 Jan Kapama River Lodge
As the sun rises over the African bush, the land comes alive with kudu and impala and spectacular predators are never far away. The day starts with an early wake-up call around 5am. Tea, coffee and biscuits are enjoyed together before heading out at first light. Halfway through the game drive, there’s a stop for hot drinks and snacks, before returning to the lodge around 9am for a hearty breakfast.

After breakfast, relax around one of the lodges two pools or enjoy one of the many activities on offer, including (all payable locally) Spa treatments, Elephant Interaction, Eco Children Community School, Hoedspruit Centre of Endangered Species, a Romantic Sleep Out or Hot Air Balloon Flight.

Lunch is served at the lodge, followed by your late afternoon safari. Dinner will either be served in the lodge dining room or outdoor Boma.

Wed 22 Jan Scenic Panoramic Tour to Johannesburg
Enjoy a final game drive and hearty breakfast, before its time to complete check-out formalities and leave Kapama. Our drive through Mpumalanga to Johannesburg will showcase fresh mountain scenery, canyons, rock formations, waterfalls and forests as we make our way along the aptly named 'Panoramic Route'. We will break the journey for photo opportunites at Gods Window, Blyde River Canyon and Mac Mac Falls and will stop for lunch in the country village of Dullstroom, where you will have time to explore its quaint shops and find a spot for lunch (at own expense). Our journey continues to Johannesburg, where we aim to arrive early evening.

Sandton is a residential suburb of Johannesburg, which has grown to become one of Africa’s biggest and most vibrant cities. You are close to Nelson Mandela Square and the Sandton City Shopping Centre, numerous bars and restaurants and some excellent museums and art galleries. The nearby township of Soweto is Johannesburg’s most popular tourist attraction. Enjoy a full day of sightseeing, shopping or simply relaxing at your hotel.

It's the end of the Test Series and time to pack your bags. You will be transferred to the airport for your outbound flight.

How to book

When you have chosen the holiday you wish to book please call our sales team on 01737 244398 to check the availability of the tour.

To confirm your booking we need to collect a deposit payment equivalent to 30% of the total holiday price. This will increase if flights are added to your booking and where the full cost of the flight may be required at the time of booking. Our preferred method of payment is by bank transfer, quoting your invoice number (TSTXXXX) on all payments. Credit and debit cards are also accepted.

Your final balance payment will be due 90 days prior to departure. The person signing the booking form will be treated as doing so on behalf of, and with the consent of, all the persons for whom the booking is made and is responsible for ensuring due payment of all monies. Please ensure you return your signed booking form, together with a copy of the photograph page of all passports.
