Tue 14 Jan Drive to Port Elizabeth
It's time to leave Knysna and drive along the coastal road to Port Elizabeth or PE. Known as the Friendly City and the Windy City, hopefully you'll experience the former rather than the latter during your stay. It was established to accommodate British settlers who were bought out on a government sponsored programme to provide a buffer between the warring Cape Dutch and the Xhosa. The small port grew from there and today it is the gateway to the Garden Route, as well as to the Eastern Cape's game reserves and beaches. On arrival in PE, check in at the Boardwalk Hotel. Tonight you are invited to join your host and fellow travellers for welcome drinks at the hotel.

After an amazing safari experience, where you will view more animals than you thought possible with a 45 mionute drive of PE, enjoy a delicious dinner which is prepared over an open fire. A short, spotlit night game drive providing the possibility of seeing more nocturnal animals completes your wildlife experience. Return to the hotel late evening.
