Cape Town and Safari clients will leave today and head north to the wonderful game reserves surrounding Greater Kruger National Park. Fly to Hoedspruit Airport where Kapama Rangers will welcome you and then drive you in open safari vehicles to Kapama River Lodge. On arrival, enjoy a leisurely lunch and then complete check in formalities.
Kapama Private Game Reserve is an African Eden. Sweeping across 13 000 hectares of savannah and riverine forest, Kapama represents a piece of Africa as it used to be. With the mighty Drakensberg Mountains in the distance and iconic Kruger National Park to the east, Kapama has the finest safari offering with large herds of buffalo, elephant and antelope along with many resident predators.

As the sun rises over the African bush, the land comes alive with kudu and impala and spectacular predators are never far away. The day starts with an early wake-up call around 5am. Tea, coffee and biscuits are enjoyed together before heading out at first light. Halfway through the game drive, there’s a stop for hot drinks and snacks, before returning to the lodge around 9am for a hearty breakfast.
After breakfast, relax around one of the lodges two pools or enjoy one of the many activities on offer, including (payable locally) Spa treatments, Elephant Interaction, Eco Children Community School, Hoedspruit Centre of Endangered Species, a Romantic Sleep Out or Hot Air Balloon Flight.
Lunch is served at the lodge, followed by your afternoon safari. Dinner will either be served in the lodge dining room or outdoor Boma.

Enjoy a final game drive and breakfast back at the lodge before it's time to check-out and prepare for your journey home. Our first stop is Franschhoek - The French corner of the Cape, which lies in one of the most beautiful wine valleys in the world. We continue to Boschendal wine estate. The name Bos-en-dal, or bush and valley, reveals its essence: breathtakingly beautiful land consolidating twenty historical farms into a diverse property of 1800 hectares. Location, sheer size and history make exploring Boschendal compelling. It beguiles and inspires wonder – a unique spirit of place. Before taking a stroll through the beautiful gardens and visiting the cape Dutch Manor House, you will be presented with four historically significant wines to taste and plenty of anecdotes and artefacts illuminating what life was like back in the early 1800s. We continue over the scenic Helshoogte pass to ouir chosen restaurant with its breathtaking views where you enjoy lunch.
Our last stop is the Picturesque oak lined town of Stellenbosch surrounded by mountains and vineyards. TOUR 2 | CAPE POINT

Our tour begins with a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast, passing through the cosmopolitan suburb of Sea Point and then Camps Bay with its glorious views of the Twelve Apostles which form part of the Table Mountain range.
From here we travel to the Cape Point Nature Reserve, which offers some of the most breath taking mountain and ocean scenery in the world. In the reserve there is an opportunity to see a variety of wildlife that includes baboons, rhebok, Cape Mountain zebra, bontebok and the elusive eland. Using the Flying Dutchman funicular to the viewing point below the lighthouse, you can admire the views across False Bay. Lunch will be enjoyed at Cape Point which has spectacular views across False Bay.
Following the coastline along False Bay, we'll return to Cape Town by way of the Simon's Town with a stop at Boulders Beach, home to a colony of African penguins. We then continue through the naval base of Simonstown and onto Fish Hoek. In the village of Kalk Bay enjoy some free time for browsing through the quaint shops. This quirky seaside town brims with creative energy and charming shops.
We return to Cape Town, passing the University of Cape Town, Rhodes Memorial and the Groote Schuur Hospital.

TOUR 3 | TABLE MOUNTAIN AND CITY TOUR

Our drive to the city centre takes us past famous landmarks such as the Castle of Good Hope built in 1666 by the Dutch East India Company and the City Hall and the Grand Parade. As we follow the city’s main thoroughfare, Adderley Street, we will see St. George’s Cathedral, the Anglican Diocese of Nobel Peace Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu. We will take a stroll through the Company Gardens and the colourful Malay Quarter (also known as the Bo-Kaap).
Our route then leads us to Kloof Nek and up to the magnificent Table Mountain lower cableway station. We'll ascend to the top [weather permitting] by revolving cable car. Here, we'll see wild flowers and the famous silver tree, and marvel at a birds-eye view of the city and its beaches. You will now have some time to explore the top of the mountain at your leisure with your tour Guide. You can wander across well marked paths to see views from all sides of the plateau. We continue to Groot Constantia – the oldest wine estate in South Africa where a sharing platter lunch is enjoyed at Jonkershuis Restaurant. Enjoy some time at leisure to visit the Historical Manor House and Museum.
After lunch we continue to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens for a guided walk in the what is acclaimed as one of the great botanic gardens of the world. Few gardens can match the sheer grandeur of the setting of Kirstenbosch, against the eastern slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain. We return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

TOUR 4 | CULTURAL TOUR

A visit to one of the many townships surrounding the city is a positive experience that will open your eyes to the way in which the biggest portion of Cape Town's population is living. This visit is completely interactive and encompasses the history of the lives and development of the disadvantaged communities in Cape Town. During an informative tour, participants will learn more about the history of the informal settlements and the challenges their inhabitants are faced with on a daily basis. You have the opportunity to interact and exchange cultural values with the local Langa community (the oldest formal township) and be welcomed in the traditional African manner.
We start at the historic street Harlem Avenue, where we are welcomed with some refreshments, meet the family and will learn about the background of the township. Embark on a walking tour of the neighbourhood. During this insightful visit, we visit St. Francis, a catholic community centre, education centre and school. There will be an opportunity to talk to the locals and get to tell them about your favourite sports. We continue to Guga S’Thebe, a very interesting art & culture centre, where we enjoy a live local performances and will get to know popular musicians and film artists and can get involved in workshops and community projects.
We come together again at the family owned Mzansi restaurant where we enjoy a light lunch and will be entertained by a live Marimba Band which will draw you in to the vibrancy of Cape Towns’ Townships.
After lunch we transfer to the V&A Waterfront for a historical trip to Robben Island.
The tour to Robben Island starts with a ferry ride from the Waterfront . On arrival at Robben Island, you embark on a fully guided tour to South Africa’s famous World Heritage Site where you’ll not only walk in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela, but also tour the island’s rich fauna and flora treasures, visit the lime quarry and see the village where former warders lived. For nearly 400 years, Robben Island, 12 kilometres from Cape Town, was a place of banishment, exile, isolation and imprisonment. It was here that rulers sent those they regarded as political troublemakers, social outcasts and the unwanted of society. We return to the Waterfront in the early evening and transfer to our hotel.

This tour takes you a little off the beaten track to the beautiful Elgin Valley and the coastal town of Hermanus.
We wind our way past the Cape Winelands and then onto the flat plains of Somerset West. The road then rises to make its way through Sir Lowry’s Pass; a scenic mountain pass that crosses the Hottentots-Holland Range. At the start of the pass you can look back for a panoramic view at the low-lying area that stretches out towards Cape Town. We stop in Elgin for Coffee or Wine Tasting before steadily making our way down to the coast.

We continue to Creation Wine Estate, a little piece of paradise in South Africa’s sought-after Walker Bay Wine Region. Here, high up on the scenic Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge you will enjoy a wine and food pairing lunch.
We journey back to Cape town along the scenic stretch of coast between Hermanus and Somerset West, passing the stunning key eco-conservation area which consists of a rustic collection of villages, farms, rivers, bays and coves.
